Why I Left the Salon Industry and Started Sage & Stone

For twenty years, I stood behind the chair.
I loved parts of it. I loved the transformation, the boost. I loved my clients, the conversations. I loved the rhythm of scissors and conversation.
But over time, I started to feel something else. Something I couldn’t ignore.
The beauty industry was fast. Loud. Constantly rushing. The air was heavy with chemicals. The schedule was relentless. And slowly, it stopped feeling like care—for myself or for the people I was working on. Hustle culture, am I right?!
I began craving something quieter.Something slower.Something that felt like nourishment instead of performance.
That craving became Sage & Stone.
This isn’t a salon. It’s a place to come home to your body.
I created Sage & Stone Holistic Head Spa to offer what I wished existed—intentional, sensory, chemical-free rituals that care for the scalp, the nervous system, and the soul.
Here, we don’t just wash hair.
We steam.
We breathe.
We massage.
We hold space for rest, healing, and release.
And yes—your hair will feel incredible. But more importantly, so will you.
Because I didn’t just leave the 'salon world' to do something different.
I left to do something deeper.
